Born and raised in N.Y. Baptized, Confirmed, Married at Trinity Evangelical Lutheran Church of Maspeth, N.Y.Active in the Choir, Sunday School and Luther League. Moved to Indiana and started my family. On a sunny day in 1960, Pastor Koch knocked on our door and thus started my association with Gloria Dei Lutheran Church. I joined the choir, we set up chairs every Saturday at the Christian School on Ridge Road to prepare for our Sunday Worship Services. I am a Charter Member of Gloria Dei. My twins, Karen and Sharon were the first infants to be baptized at Gloria Dei on Christmas Morning 1960.

For a time I left Gloria Dei due to my husband's disagreement with Pastor Koch and attended church in Hammond at Trinity Lutheran. After my divorce in 1975, I returned to my home at Gloria Dei, where I found the comfort of Jesus Christ. I joined the choir and the Singles club, taught Sunday School, vacation Bible School and Bible Study.

In 1997 I married my best friend Wally Abatie and then made my family complete with the addition of another son, Wally's son Archie. We now have 5 children; Rich, Karen, Sharon, Frankie and Archie. Our grandchildren and great grandchildren were baptized at Gloria Dei and remain members.

I have worn many hats throughout my professional life, but by far the most important profession is that of Christian, Wife and mother.
